A NEW YEAR
Story Title: A New Year
Habakkuk 2:2 "And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."
"2026 is my year of Manifestation" I declared twice
I crossed an item from my to-do list and fiddled with my pen.
One of my cell members stared at me. Her name is Shikemi. It's her sixth month in Church.
Shikemi has a good observation habit. When I invited her to Church, she started with observing my prayer positions and how I prayed in tongues and few days later, she started prayer better.
'I like the way you pray. You pray in tongues, declare words and you use the name of Jesus. You have results. I tried it and yes, it works" She told me one Sunday morning
"What a productive year" I smiled at her
She nodded and turned her head to the slide deck she was reading.
"Shikemi, have you started the Bible in one-year reading plan?" I asked
"No" She said.
Her smile gradually faded. She was 2ft away so I stretched my hand signalling for her to come closer.
I smiled and asked "Do you want to use the Bible in two-years plan instead?"
"Well, Sister Thelma, I want to talk to you about something."
"Sure, go ahead," I responded
She moved her chair. I held her hand and she smiled.
"Sister Thelma, there's a lot to achieve this year and after writing my vision and goals down. I don't know where to start."
"Shikemi, you know...When you set goals, you should have plans...Having a plan for a goal is like having a direction'
"I want to do them, ma. It just feels like a lot. How will I keep up with studying my BIBLE when there are 500 pages of microbiology slides to read?' she grinned
"I'm not saying God is secondary or books are more important and I have been studying my BIBLE but I have not finished Day three and it's day six" she added
"Try breaking down the visions. Write out a plan for each goals. Break the plan into months, weeks, and days then, you'll find out that it was never big. God likes it when you start. It's just like when we pledge to do something in Church. Starting that day with your seed on the altar is a sign of commitment and seriousness to the Lord that you'll do what you pledged to do." I explained
"In this same way, start today. Well, that's after you write out your plans" I added
"I already missed some days." She said
"Go back to read them. You can do two days in one. It's just day six and by Sunday, you'll be done. Also, don't weigh yourself down with 'I have a lot to do' thoughts. The moment you change your thoughts and confessions to 'It's easy', things change."
"Your life goes in the direction of your confessions." She wrote in her book
"Words are things. You can't say the right words if you don't think the right thoughts" I added
"It's still my year - my year of Manifestation" She said
"Thank you Sister Thelma for all you shared with me. You're the best in the world" She laughed
"Thank You Holy Spirit for helping me" I whispered with a smile
Being a cell leader comes with the opportunity of being a solution.
